Say Hello To The 2024 Ford F-150 & F-150 Raptor: America's Favorite Truck Just Got Better

America's favorite pick-up, the Ford F-150, has been upgraded for MY2024. The Blue Oval has introduced several updates, with refreshed styling, a new standard engine, and many more things that make life easier for owners.

Let's start with changes under the bonnet. The 3.3-liter V6 is no longer available, even on the entry-level XL and XLT derivatives. Instead, the 2.7-liter EcoBoost now serves as the base engine, increasing base outputs from 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque to 325 hp and 400 lb-ft.

The rest of the lineup retains its wide variety of engines, including the 2.7-liter, 5.0-liter V8, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and the Hybrid. The Raptor and Raptor R derivatives gain motivation from a High Output 3.5-liter V6 and a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, respectively.

For 2024, the PowerBoost Hybrid will have the same starting MSRP as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost motor. This is part of Ford's plan to make the F-150 PowerBoost one of the best-selling hybrids in America.

In anticipation of increased demand, the automaker plans to double the amount of hybrid trucks manufactured for MY2024. With 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque, the PowerBoost is the most potent F-Series truck, apart from the muscular Raptor derivatives.

"We're making hybrid more accessible to our customers, giving them the power of choice by offering it at the same price as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost," said Andrew Frick, VP of Sales and Trucks at Ford Blue. "This is the latest example of Ford democratizing technology for all truck customers. We did it with EcoBoost engines [...] and now we're doing it with PowerBoost Hybrid."

The exterior facelift is subtle but is enough to keep the wrinkles at bay. LED lighting is now standard and provides the F-150 with a more upmarket look while improving safety and visibility. Lariat to Platinum trim levels receive C-Clamp daytime-running lamps, while lesser models receive amber turn signals and signature lighting.

There are also new wheel options to suit the F-150 with various sizes from 17-22 inches, with finishes including chrome or a sinister blacked-out effect. The standard "classic" grille has been redesigned and boasts more premium materials to complement the upscale front fascia. The new styling aligns more with the new Super Duty derivatives introduced earlier this year.

The STX trim level receives a "coast-to-coast" radiator grille that is sportier and devoid of the frills seen on the Platinum. STX models also gain funky Electric Lime exterior accents.

The Limited trim has been replaced by the Platinum Plus derivative for 2024 and receives a model-specific Smoked Truffle Interior with Bronzed Copper accents. The regular Platinum gets Platinum Blue accents and brushed aluminum inserts.

Inside the XLT and Lariat, you'll find new Medium Dark Smoked Truffle seats and a black interior color scheme. This Smoked Truffle interior with Dark Smoked Truffle accents will also be offered to Platinum Plus customers. As for the King Ranch, the interior benefits from new trim details with a micro-texture reminiscent of a bullwhip.

Furthermore, the single metal interior finish found in the King Ranch has been replaced with a two-color finish comprising bronzed copper and tarnished brass metal.

Several changes have been applied to the 2024 F-150 Raptor. The big news here is the new Fox Dual Live shocks that give the super truck even more surefootedness. New continuously variable rebound controls boast standard position-sensitive compression control, giving the driver greater control both on- and off-road.

Optionally for Raptor trucks with 37-inch tires, a new modular front bumper has end caps exposing more of the front tire than the stock bumper, giving the Raptor more aggression and capability. Various accessories complement it further, including a light bar attachment.

New to the color palette for 2024, the F-150 Raptor can be painted in Shelter Green. There are also new hood graphics and decals for those who want to stand out.

For 2024, the Tremor also gains an optional modular front bumper, which allows for extra accessories to be equipped, such as a light bar, a Ford Performance winch kit (seen below), or a brush guard. All Tremor models receive the model-specific side decals and running boards, orange accents on the radiator grille, and unique interior touches.

For 2024, Ford is introducing the optional Pro Access Tailgate to make the F-150 even more practical. Integrated within the tailgate is a swing gate that can open like a door. The gate has three built-in stops (37 degrees, 70 degrees, and 100 degrees) that allow the driver to hold the gate in a particular position.

This is particularly useful when towing, for example, and prevents any dents or scuffs from occurring. More importantly, it makes it easier for owners to reach into the cargo bed and grab something quickly without lowering the entire tailgate. Of course, the classic tailgate is still available for traditional customers.

On the tech front, Ford is giving all F-150 customers a taste of BlueCruise. Owners will benefit from a complimentary 90-day trial and can elect to purchase the technology at any point during their ownership. Customers won't be bound to an annual fee, with monthly BlueCruise subscriptions now available. The 2024 F-150 will be equipped with BlueCruise 1.2, featuring In-Lane Repositioning and Lane Change Assist. An upgraded BlueCruise 1.3 is expected to roll out in the coming months.

A 12-inch touchscreen is now standard across the range and is supplemented by an equally sized digital instrument cluster. The cluster screen boasts F-150-specific graphics that adapt to the chosen drive mode and display navigation and off-roading data. A head-up display is also available on the F-150 for the first time, and so is Ford Stolen Vehicle Services. The 2024 F-150 is the first Ford to receive this in North America, which can help recover the vehicle if stolen.

Ford hasn't said when the new F-150 will hit dealerships but says ordering one will be easier than before, with the process 90% less complex than in 2023. Pricing will arrive closer to the time.
