But there's no extra power.

  • Redesigned front end with new vertical light clusters
  • 2.0-liter turbo-four and 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engines carryover
  • New 33-inch 9K resolution touchscreen infotainment display
  • Two new exterior paint colors
  • Arrival early 2024

Sedans are dying across the board, but the 2025 Cadillac CT5 aims to inject some excitement into a dwindling segment that is proving lucrative for Cadillac. Revealed at the 2023 Detroit Auto Show, or North American International Auto Show as it's formally known, the 2025 model year CT5 is a mid-cycle refresh for the 3 Series-rivaling sedan, which has enjoyed a 35.6% uptick in sales over the last year in the US.

Scheduled to arrive in early 2024, the CT5 receives a subtle nip and tuck to keep it visually fresh, but packs in new tech across the board.

The biggest change occurs in the cabin, where Cadillac has made a curved 33-inch touchscreen display standard right from the base model. This is the same unit found in the Lyriq, boasting 9K resolution, a customizable interface, and Google built-in, enabling access to the Play Store, Google Maps, Google Assistant, and more.

The visual upgrades are easy to miss at first glance and represent a subtle evolution of Caddy's sharp design language. The vertical headlight styling remains, with newly designed clusters boasting laser-etched "Mondriaan details." Instead of a horizontal light cluster and a split vertical element, the new light design is a single-piece item, with a narrow LED DRL strip connecting to a redesigned grille to create an aesthetic of width.

The grille has been redesigned, too, with the hexagonal black mesh enhanced by chrome chevron detailing on Luxury and Premium Luxury trims, while the Sport model gets a pure black mesh grille with black surrounds.

Speaking of the lighting elements, upper trims get a choreographed light show to welcome you to the car or signal your departure.

To complement the new design, Cadillac has introduced two new hues to the color palette, with Deep Space Metallic (borrowed from the new Escalade IQ EV) inspired by the depths of the ocean and the expanse of space and Typhoon Metallic drawing on the colors produced by waves crashing during a tropical storm.

Wheels range from 18-19 inches as standard, with 20-inch sets available as dealer-installed accessories.

Cadillac also enhanced the safety of the CT5 sedan, with tweaks made to the safety systems, including standard blind zone steering assist and automatic emergency braking at intersections. Super Cruise hands-free driving is available as an option, which incorporates driver attention assist, and Cadillac engineers have worked on the subtleties of the system to ensure it feels more natural when assisting drivers.

At the heart of the CT5, it remains mechanically unchanged. That means rear-wheel drive is the default layout (all-wheel drive optional), with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder up front producing 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. A 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 remains optional with 335 hp and 405 lb-ft. A 10-speed automatic gearbox remains the only transmission option for the core CT5 model lineup.

Cadillac did not divulge any details on the upgrades coming to the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing, which we assume will inherit the interior and exterior styling updates in due course.

Likewise, no pricing information was divulged, with Cadillac representatives promising this will be made available ahead of the market launch in early 2024. We do, however, expect a bump in price over the 2024 model, which starts at $39,790 for the RWD Luxury trim and tops out at $50,880 for the Premium Luxury with the V6 and AWD.
