CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato has confirmed Alfa Romeo is entering a new segment in the next eight years, featuring an SUV and executive sedan running on Stellantis' STLA large platform.
With 350-800 horsepower and a range of up to 510 miles per charge, the cars will rival BMW's iX and Mercedes EQE SUV.
Alfa Romeo Tonale design cues are anticipated, along with sleek styling, including the iconic Trefoil grille and slim headlamps. Pricing is expected to undercut the German rivals.
Returning to its roots, Alfa Romeo also aims to introduce a compact hatchback model featuring electric propulsion starting in 2026.
With Volkswagen, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz racing into the EV space, it's not surprising Alfa Romeo will join the market with this new ambitious plan.
