Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Unlocks Potential With New 769-HP Tuning Package

The grand tourer receives suspension upgrades that lower it to the ground.

As the top dog in the Aston Martin lineup, the DBS Superleggera already brings the best out of the British luxury automaker. However, Mariani Car-Styling believes it can still squeeze more out of the two-door grand tourer, and this family-owned firm puts together its first tuning program for the 2018 to 2022 model years.

The program aims to enhance the performance through upgrades on the drivetrain and powertrain. In collaboration with KW Automotive, Mariani installed its coilover suspension, which lowers the car by 0.79 inches. This should help put the power down to the ground more effectively and lower the center of gravity for greater stability on high-speed corners, as claimed.

Speaking of power, the tuner claims the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 delivers more with 769 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. For an optimal performance upgrade, the company suggested owners should install its chip tuning along with its performance-optimized sports exhaust. It is said to be designed to provide a comfortable ride in low-speed runs.

Moreover, the standard flap for the exhaust can be controlled via remote control, which Mariani will provide.

The settings for the adaptive damper adjustment can still be calibrated at the push of a button, allowing drivers to choose the setup that best suits their style. Complementing the sports suspension is a wheel spacer for even improved handling. The car rides on "superlight" forged wheels (11.5Jx21 inches) that only weigh 24.3 lbs.

The pricing for the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera tuning package wasn't disclosed. Mariani did say the modification took three weeks to complete. The company also compared tuning with fashion, reflecting the nifty-looking builds off its portfolio.

One of these is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4-Door, which was just recently unveiled with performance and cosmetic upgrades. The tuner managed to increase the power output to 725 hp (148 hp more) and 700 lb-ft of torque, making it almost at par with the hybridized Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance.
