Datsun 240Z Electromod Could Be Batman's Next Ride

And it's heading to 2023 SEMA.

The same guy who designed the amazing-looking Batmobile from the 2022 The Batman movie, Ash Thorp, has made another equally sinister-styled coupe based on a Datsun 240Z. Dubbed "The Legend," it was designed by Make Haste Corporation (MHC), a collaborative effort between Thorpe and Carlos Pecino (aka colorsponge).

This car is heavily modernized while still having some semblance of the first Nissan Z car's lines. But unlike the SR20-swapped 240Z from Hawaii and many other Z car restomod builds, this one is being transformed into an EV.

For now, it's still a shell, but it was confirmed that it is getting an electric motor and battery combo that will provide the car with Tesla S Plaid levels of performance.

Apart from having the same roofline as the 240Z, the rest of the car is quite a departure from the vehicle it's based on. The rear, for instance, gets a drastic makeover thanks to a gigantic diffuser. Its side portion, meanwhile, gets a widebody look thanks to beefier fender flares coupled with deep dish-type wheels. And the front appears to have a distinct hood bulge. Once completed, we reckon that most of the body will be made from carbon fiber.

Regarding the build process, MHC, which is primarily a design house, needed to collaborate with a builder to turn this car into a reality. Stepping in to actually build the vehicle from the ground up is Street Bandito, a group that previously made a full carbon fiber 240Z. Interestingly, the car started out as a 240Z chassis which the group picked up from a farm in Virginia.

The best part about the Legacy 240Z build is that it's coming to SEMA 2023 in Las Vegas in November. By then we suspect it will have the right amount of EV oomph to match its attention-grabbing looks.

In the meantime, we should receive updates regarding this awesome new build.
