Everrati Announces Electric Defender For Wealthy Yacht Owners

Drop anchor and wheel out the Defender.

Everrati, maker of desirable classic electric restomods, has announced a new Land Rover Defender-based project with Bannenberg & Rowell and Edmiston, two big names in the yachting industry.

The new electric vehicle, dubbed the Shore Tender by Everrati, has been designed to provide wealthy yacht owners with an eco-friendly vehicle to keep on their super yachts, providing them with something to drive when they dock in places like Saint-Tropez or Monaco.

Based on the old Defender, Everrati has worked closely with Bannenberg & Rowell, and Edmiston to create a special vehicle that perfectly blends into the yachting lifestyle. The Shore Tender has been designed to be stowed on board, with the compact short wheelbase taking up minimal space within the yacht's storage quarters.

Everrati says customers can commission the Shore Tender as a pair. This could be useful if you've got guests on board or staff who require a vehicle to run errands.

Everrati hasn't shared many details about the Shore Tender, but notes a bespoke electric powertrain powers it. The electrified off-roader retains the classic rugged looks of the old Defender but with hand-built OEM-spec components. There's no official range rating, but Everrati says it is "impressive." Regenerative braking and AC and DC fast-charging capabilities are part of the package.

Based on the images, the Shore Tender has a traditional two-seater layout with racing bucket seats. The bed, covered with a sailcloth roof awning, has two inward-facing bench seats. A spare wheel is located on the roof.

The interior is arguably the highlight of the package, with plenty of gorgeous details and luxury features. Under the hood, where you'd usually find a V8 or diesel motor, there's a custom-made champagne chiller and space for champagne flutes and crockery for an impromptu picnic.

Sustainability is a central theme of the Shore Tender. The floor panels, for example, have been fashioned out of recycled plastics reclaimed from the ocean floor. Adding to the adventure persona are the removable capstans and doors.

Everrati says owners can customize the paintwork to match their mega yachts, which is a nice touch. There are also available custom sailcloth duffel bags that can be personalized with embroidered yacht logos and names. As you'd expect from such an exclusive motor vehicle, pricing is on application and largely depends on the chosen specification. Customers will be taken through a detailed commissioning consultation.

"The Shore Tender is a testament to our commitment to sustainable mobility solutions that elevate the luxury experience. With this innovation, we aim to redefine how yacht owners explore the world, offering an eco-friendly alternative without compromising on style or performance," said Justin Lunny, CEO of Everrati.

We expect the Shore Tender to be revealed at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show on September 27-30.
