First Electric Lincoln Will Arrive In 2025 As Three-Row SUV

In the meantime, gasoline versions of the Corsair and Aviator are to be culled.

Unlike its rivals, Lincoln is yet to introduce an all-electric vehicle. However, that's all set to change in the coming years, with the first Lincoln EV expected to debut in 2025. Automotive News reports that it will take the form of an SUV with three-row seating, suggesting it could be an electric version of the Aviator.

Whether it retains the Aviator nameplate remains to be seen, but the upcoming EV will enter production in late 2025 at the Oakville Assembly Plant in Canada. It will be produced alongside a Ford-branded version and debut after its mainstream cousin arrives. We wouldn't be surprised if it borrows styling cues from the striking Star concept, which boasts modern styling and a truly stunning interior.

The oft-forgotten Aviator won't be killed off just yet. The ICE-powered luxury crossover will be facelifted in early 2024 to boost sales and keep it competitive. However, the updated Aviator is expected to stick around for two years before it is discontinued to make room for its electric successor.

Lincoln's entry-level model, the Corsair, was substantially refreshed for the 2023 model year. Aside from revised styling, the baby Lincoln now enjoys semi-autonomous functionality thanks to the addition of ActiveGlide 1.2. Even though the Corsair attracts new buyers to the Lincoln brand, the current model will be the last offered in the United States. Production is expected to cease in 2025.

We doubt Lincoln would abandon this segment entirely. Expect the Corsair to be replaced by an all-electric successor. After all, the automaker has said five new EVs will arrive by 2026.

The Lincoln Nautilus has been completely redesigned for 2024, so it should be around for a few years. With a commanding exterior and sumptuous interior, the new Nautilus eschews V6 power in favor of more frugal four-cylinder engines.

A base 2.0-liter turbocharged engine produces 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid model delivers a more appealing 310 hp but has to make do with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). For the first time, Lincoln will build the Nautilus in China and sell the vehicle in the United States.

As for the Navigator, Lincoln's crown jewel will receive a facelift in the first half of 2024 to remain competitive against the Cadillac Escalade. However, there are no plans to offer an electric version just yet. Could that be a mistake with the Escalade IQ waiting in the wings? Only time will tell.
