Ford F-150 Raptor Facelift Seen Without Camo Around Detroit

Spy Shots / 2 Comments

The front fascia looked updated including the new daytime running lights that were split in the middle.

Ford CEO Jim Farley has already confirmed the facelifted Ford F-150 will be unveiled at this year's Detroit Auto Show. While most automakers would wait for the big day, the Blue Oval company seems unfazed as units of the updated F-150 were already out on the road.

Cody Mathes (The Raptor Connection on Instagram) spotted one of the updated units in the form of an F-150 Raptor. The performance truck was spied, taking a day out at a bike race in Michigan without camouflage, giving us an early look at the facelift. But, as it appeared, the changes seemed subtle, almost unnoticeable to untrained eyes.

The spied truck had an updated front fascia including new headlights and bumper. Perhaps the most noticeable change was the new slightly revamped LED daytime running lights, which appeared split in the middle. There were no interior spy shots for now but that too is expected to host a few tweaks.

When Farley confirmed the mid-cycle refresh at a briefing about the company's earnings in Q2 2023, he mentioned something about launching more hybrids and slowing down EVs. Hybrids will become more important for the company so a new hybrid variant could be up in the 2024 Ford F-150.

The model already offers a hybrid powertrain with the 3.5-liter PowerBoost V6 full hybrid engine good for 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. It is unclear whether Ford will make changes to the current hybrid mill or will introduce a new hybrid derivative with a more efficient setup to the 2.7-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6.

All our questions should be answered once the 2023 Detroit Auto Show, also known as the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), kicks off on September 13. The Mustang Mach-E Rally, a rally-focused EV version unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, could join the updated F-150 at the auto show.
