Lincoln Navigator Black Gold Special Edition Has A Very Flashy Paint Job

Luxury / 18 Comments

The unique two-tone gold and black paint finish looks great on the luxury SUV.

Lincoln China is celebrating 26 years of the Navigator luxury SUV with a new Black Gold Edition. Identified by its flamboyant black-and-gold two-tone color scheme, the special edition also receives an exclusive Knight logo on the C-pillar and unique paddle lamps that project a model-specific logo and "Lincoln Motor Company Special Edition."

Based on the Navigator L, the Black Gold Edition measures 221.9 inches from stem to stern, making it a rather imposing brute. Lincoln China has chosen to base the special edition on the Presidential Edition trim level, which means the Black Gold receives classy 22-inch aluminum wheels, LED matrix headlights, and a silver-finish dot matrix grille.

Inside, the Navigator L Black Gold Edition utilizes a seven-seater setup spread across a 2+2+3 seating configuration. No one loves a long-wheelbase car more than Chinese customers, thanks to the capacious interior and increased legroom.

Passengers won't want for anything, particularly those seated in the front row. The leather-lined chairs boast 30-way power adjustment with memory and five distinct massage modes. Naturally, they're heated and cooled as well. Lincoln hasn't forgotten the middle-row passengers, who receive heating, ventilation, and massage functions for the captain's chairs, along with a 5.8-inch touchscreen.

The cabin of the Navigator Black Gold is lined with rich Venetian leather with a choice of interior themes. The "Central Park" interior boasts Emerald Green leather and wood veneer. The traditional veneer receives a modern touch, with laser engraving etching Manhattan streets into the inlays.

There's also a "Modern Yacht" theme, which uses a gorgeous Gulf Blue color for the leatherwork. Teamed with white stitching and piano black veneers, it's a very classy environment.

Other luxury features include a Revel Ultima 3D sound system with 28 speakers and several Level 2 semi-autonomous driver assists as part of the Co-Pilot360 suite of features.

Unsurprisingly, Lincoln hasn't fettled with the 3.5-liter V6. As a reminder, the twin-turbocharged engine produces 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission. Despite the size and heft, the American luxobarge can sprint to 60 mph in less than six seconds before topping out at 115 mph.

We don't expect to see the Black Gold Edition in the United States, but we have a feeling the exterior colors would appeal to local customers with extroverted tastes.

The Black Gold Edition isn't the first Navigator special edition launched for the Chinese market. Last year, the Navigator One was introduced for ultra-wealthy customers, with just 30 units available.
