Make The Fisker Ocean Off-Road Ready For An Extra $14,000

Add the cost of the Force E Off-Road package to the Ocean and you're looking at $83,000.

Fisker has revealed more information about its Ocean Force E Off-Road package, set to enhance the capabilities of the electric SUV for explorations beyond the pavement.

While specific details are yet to be revealed, the American company has announced that pre-orders can now be placed for $250, with the estimated price for the package at $14,000.

That's on top of the actual SUV's price tag, which, for the 360-mile Ocean Extreme, starts at $68,999 before destination and freight charges. That means if you're planning to buy a Fisker SUV as an off-road toy, make sure you're ready to fork over around $83,000.

As initially announced, the Ocean Force E Off-Road package comes with notable upgrades such as 33-inch tires on 20-inch wheels, specialized dampers and a lift kit for improved off-road handling, skid plates, and full-length titanium underbody plate to ensure the vehicle can tackle rugged terrains with confidence.

Additionally, the package introduces an Off-Road Mode, which adjusts the vehicle's powertrain settings to optimize performance for off-road adventures. It will be delivered through over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Fisker also mentioned that an optional lightweight roof basket will be available. At the same time, the interior package will equip the Force E with rubber floor coverings, extra grab handles, and tie-downs.

The Force E Off-Road package can be purchased as an add-on for new all-wheel-drive Ocean SUVs or as a retrofit package for those who have already received theirs. Unfortunately, it's only available for the Extreme and One trims, with the more affordable Ocean Ultra getting the package at a later, unmentioned date.

Development of the Force E Off-Road package is still underway, with deliveries starting in Q1 2024. Fisker also wants to remind its customers that the off-road package will change the specs of the Ocean, specifically decreased acceleration and range due to the additional weight and other modifications.

With off-roading electric SUVs slowly emerging as a niche market, the Fisker Ocean with the Force E Off-Road package moves closer to challenging the frontrunners, such as the Rivian R1S that conquered the Rubicon trail.

Then again, the SolarSky roof included in Fisker's arsenal will supply additional battery juice while on a sunny off-road exploration; a compelling feature despite the hefty price tag.
