Mazda CX-30 Receives A Hefty Price Bump For 2024

The Carbon Turbo edition, first announced in Japan this year, enters the American lineup.

Mazda has announced a significant price increase for its popular Mazda CX-30 model lineup for 2024, along with a new Carbon Turbo trim option and a new infotainment system. Prices have surged across all trim levels, leaving consumers with higher price tags on the entry-level and premium versions of the CX-30.

The base-model 2024 Mazda CX-30 2.5 S now commands a price tag of $24,995, a substantial $2,045 increase over last year. This is a huge blow for budget-conscious buyers hoping to snag a deal on Mazda's compact SUV. Unlike the CX-5 and CX-50, which got price increases because of major trim shakeups and recalibrations, the CX-30 is just a good old-fashioned price hike.

Despite the price bump, the base CX-30 2.5 S still offers notable features, including LED lights, 16-inch aluminum wheels, an 8.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and Mazda's i-Activsense suite of driver-assist technologies. The primary addition is the inclusion of blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert as part of the standard driver-assist tech suite and standard USB-C charging connectivity ports.

The base model retains its 191-horsepower naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, standard all-wheel drive platform, and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Mid-level trim pricing remains relatively stable, with the bulk of potential Mazda CX-30 buyers seeing only a slight change. The CX-30 2.5 S Premium sees a $490 increase, reaching $31,990, while the 2.5 S Preferred experiences a more modest bump of $240, landing at $28,790. Mazda has also reshuffled the trim levels, with the new 2.5 Carbon Turbo package and the 2.5 S Select Sport replacing the Select in the lineup.

The Carbon Turbo trim level was introduced a few months ago as a styling package focusing on darkened elements. The Zircon Sand exterior color, Terracotta leatherette, and black suede-trimmed seats are exclusive to this package, priced at $32,790.

The price increases aren't limited to the base model alone. The 2.5 Turbo Premium receives a $1,190 price hike, while the plush 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus sees a $1,400 uptick, now priced at $36,800. The latter benefits from Mazda's Cruising and Traffic Support, a level two driver-assist technology offering automatic acceleration, braking, and steering assist, debuting on the flagship CX-90 three-row crossover.

Additionally, all Turbo models receive a new 10.25-inch touchscreen as standard for the 2024 model year. The Skyactiv-G 2.5 Turbo engine retains its class-leading output at 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on premium fuel.

The 2024 Mazda CX-30 is expected to arrive at dealerships later this year.
