New Mini John Cooper Works Countryman Revealed With New Logo

The revamped JCW crossover continues the tradition of using Chili Red accents.

The John Cooper Works (JCW) version of the Mini Countryman was announced when the British marque unveiled the new-generation model at the beginning of this month. However, it failed to include photos, which has been resolved thanks to the automaker's latest social media post. As it turns out, Mini has also updated the JCW emblem.

The new JCW emblem differs greatly from the old one, which was a wordmark stylized with a winged shield. The redesigned version, shown on the grille and in the cabin, still shows the John Cooper Works wordmark but is now positioned alongside what appears to be a checkered flag, a nod to JCW's motorsports roots.

The checkered flag theme is also found on the Countryman JCW's front fascia. The meshed grille shows an illusion of checkers through contrasting textures.

Meanwhile, the lower bumper also gets checkered flag stripes flanked by vertical Chili Red accents. The DRLs are also different on the JCW version, with a break in the middle as opposed to the standard version's closed polygonal shape.

Continuing the JCW tradition, the Chili Red accents appear on the side mirror covers, the small panel on the B-pillar, and the roof. The Countryman JCW appears to have a different LED graphic on the taillights, along with a distinct wheel design. It also has quad tailpipes, connoting performance upgrades on the hotter crossover.

Unfortunately, Mini failed to disclose the exact performance figures of the Countryman JCW, except for the "increased output."

We'll know more about the oily details as we inch closer to the vehicle's market launch, which will likely happen next year alongside the JCW version of the other revamped Mini Cooper.

Regarding the Mini JCW Hatch, Stefan Floeck, Mini's product line boss, has confirmed that it is coming in ICE and EV forms. The gasoline-fed JCW Hatch will be introduced next year, while the electric version will come to light at the beginning of 2025. There isn't any indication that an electric Countryman JCW is happening but don't rule it out just yet.

However, we know that Mini has already made plans for the next-generation Countryman coming in 2028. It will reportedly use BMW's Neue Klasse platform, which means the automaker is dropping the conventionally powered Countryman in the next iteration.
