Nissan Z Sounds Way More Aggressive With Aftermarket Exhausts From AWE Tuning

It produces a deeper, lower-toned sound compared to stock.

AWE Tuning has released a brand new exhaust setup for the 2024 Nissan Z. Like its very aggressive-sounding exhaust systems for the 8Y Audi RS3, the tuning specialist's new pipes for the Z allow for a fuller and lower-pitched note.

Watch and listen to the video below, where you'll get to hear the aftermarket exhaust in action on a white Z ripping around a race track.

Consisting of 3-inch dual tailpipes, the aftermarket piece includes an X-pipe shape, said to guarantee sound resonation in the mid-pipes for reduced rasping. The tips of the exhaust system themselves are five-inch double-walled, slash-cut tips that may come in chrome or black. The part is constructed via CNC mandrel bending, which means it has tight radius bends, all without wrinkles or metal deformities.

There are two types of Nissan Z AWE exhaust systems being offered. There's the more affordable Track Edition and then the Touring Edition. The former starts at $1,195 per the company's official website, while the latter has a stiffer entry-level price of $1,495. The latter's pricier as it gets AWE's patented drone-canceling technology.

Both configurations are compatible with both AT and MT versions of the Z. This goes for the Sport, Proto Spec, and Performance trims. The automatic-only Nissan Z Nismo is not listed as compatible with the exhaust kit.

Both configurations of the aftermarket exhaust include bespoke adapter plates and gaskets. That said, assembling a Lego toy car model might be more complicated than installing the AWE Tuning exhaust system on the Z.

Finally, AWE's Z exhaust doesn't just make the new Nissan sound better but also provides performance gains. Dyno tests have shown the aftermarket exhaust can add around 6 horsepower and 14 lb-ft of torque to the wheels.

Those numbers were taken with factory downpipes, so the exhaust system may fit into a bonkers Nissan Z build. In addition, AWE says that it is legal in 50 states.
