With a curb weight hovering around 5,000 pounds, the 2023 Porsche Panamera Hybrid sedan is never going to feel like a Lotus Elise, but Porsche has tuned and re-tuned the suspension setup of the Panamera Hybrid over the years and the 2023 model has the best setup yet. The optional air suspension truly gives the best driving experience, but even without it, the Panamera is agile and smooth.

Drivers need to select from the following driving modes: Hybrid Auto, Sport, Sport Plus, E-Charge, and E-Hold. We like the fact that the Panamera E-Hybrid can switch between being a convincing sports car and a suburban luxury coach in a matter of seconds. On city roads, the new Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid sedan feels like it's wafting on air (it actually does in certain configurations) and is a perfect daily companion. Switch over to one of the sportier settings and it becomes a different beast altogether. The low-down pull of the electric motors helps this large luxury car claw out of corners with incredible pace, and the steering response is quick and satisfying. It's no Porsche 911, but for its size, the 2023 Panamera drives incredibly well.

The Porsche Panamera has proven time and again that it's one of the best full-size luxury cars around, and adding hybrid power makes it even better. Porsche continues to improve on the hybrid version of the Panamera, with larger batteries and a tweaked chassis, making this car more fun, comfortable, and practical. We think it looks great from the outside, although the Turbo model could do with a few more aggressive touches. On the inside, it's all luxury, and it's hard to fault any particular area, although we wish Porsche would sort out its clunky infotainment system. While there is no official safety review for the Porsche Panamera hybrid, a whole host of advanced driver aids are available - albeit at a price.

On the Road, the 2023 Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid offers a bit of everything; it can be an amazing cruiser on the open road, a responsive yet comfy city car, and a bit of a canyon carver when the need arises. This hybrid feels quick in any configuration, but for the ultimate rush we recommend giving the Turbo S E-Hybrid a spin. The Tesla Model S sits in the same price range, and to get your hands on a brand-new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance, we expect you'll have to shell out around $180k. Get a mid-range Panamera E-Hybrid and call it a day.
