Porsche has shown an interest in art over the last few years, and the Nebula 928 is the latest project to show off its creative prowess. Daniel Arsham and Khyzyl Saleem collaborated on this unique classic grand tourer, painted in an eye-catching shade of pink.
The idea was to create a 2000s version of the 928. Arsham poached wheels from the Panamericana concept first seen in 1989 for a look that stands out from other grand tourers. The interior was then decked out in different shades of mauve for a symphony of color and design.
From organic metaball shapes used as air intakes and lights to overlapping wheels inspired by the Panamericana concept, it shows what updated classics could look like.
Arsham also transformed a forlorn 356 roadster into an art piece, aptly naming it the 356 Bonsai. Retaining its aging dents but also receiving new life through mechanical restoration, it was a fitting tribute to age-old Japanese craftsmanship methodology.
Arsham currently has an exhibition at the Petersen Automotive Museum with Porsche-inspired projects on display. Although not all the projects may be on four wheels, they all speak to the spirit of grand tourers within modern-day Porsche vehicles such as the Taycan and Panamera.
