SEMA 2023 Will Host New Overland Experience Display

The niche segment is growing in popularity and deserves a dedicated environment.

SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) has been the go-to show for aftermarket tuners and gearheads for decades. But in recent years, it has become a great event to showcase overlanding builds, vehicles, and accessories. With that in mind, the association has moved the SEMA Show Overland Experience to a new location in 2023, promising a "more immersive introduction into the world of overlanding."

The new display will be housed within the Diamond Lot, across from the West Hall. This will provide vendors with a dedicated environment. The Overlanding Experience will showcase myriad specialist vehicles, including purpose-built trailers, pop-top-equipped trucks, and more. As you would expect, these vehicles will be equipped with all sorts of things, from solar chargers and kitchens to refrigerators and utility gear.

"Moving the Overland Experience to the Diamond Lot will enable attendees and media to easily access the latest products and innovations in the growing market segment in an outside setting they were designed for," commented Tom Gattuso, SEMA Vice President of Events.

"The exhibit will be conveniently accessible to all Show attendees via the LVCC Loop West Hall Station and the West Hall, featuring the latest in trucks, SUVs, off-roading, powersports, and utility vehicles," added Gattuso.

SEMA 2022 had all sorts of exciting overlanding builds for attendees to ogle. Optima Batteries previewed specially prepared Rivian R1S and R1T models with all-terrain tires, 20-inch Alston wheels, rooftop tents, and a portable Optima Power Station that can recharge the batteries at Level 2 speeds - even if you're in the middle of nowhere.

Not to be outdone, Toyota unveiled no less than eight overlanding concepts, including a Tundra Trailhunter. With custom suspension and a lift kit, the truck can handle almost anything you throw at it. Once you've reached your camping spot or overnight destination, the Trailhunter's multiple accessories - including a roof tent and fridge - will come in handy. The automaker introduced the Trailhunter as a trim level for the new Tacoma.

SEMA 2023 will occur at the Las Vegas Convention Center between October 31 and November 3. The Overland Experience will include displays from brands like Oracle Lighting, KW Automotive, LiquidSpring, and, for the first time, Winnebago. Perhaps the RV specialists will showcase its all-electric RV?

"With exhibits like the Overland Experience displayed throughout the SEMA Show, we will showcase what's trending in the marketplace and what many consumers and enthusiasts are gravitating towards," concluded Trade Show Director Andy Tompkins.
