Spy Shots Of The Week: 911 Targa, Huracan Replacement, i30 N, Tucson, And More

Spy Shots / Comments

These are the upcoming cars that our spy photographers have captured in the past week.

CarBuzz spy photographers have been busy in Europe, snapping up images of five new vehicles undergoing development on public roads. These include a new hot hatch from Hyundai, as well as a facelifted SUV from the same company, Lamborghini's successor to the Huracan, the facelifted 911 Targa, and a piece of forbidden fruit from Spain.

Without any further ado, here are the spy shots of the week.

Porsche 911 Targa

The Porsche 911 Targa was spotted in Europe, wearing its new facelifted HD Matrix LED headlights, updated LED taillights, and redesigned bumpers front and rear. Inside, we know that the analog tachometer has met its maker and is being replaced by a fully digital driver display. It's possible that trim and accent options will be revised too, but overall, this is a somewhat light facelift. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The facelifted 911 range should be unveiled before the end of this year.

Hyundai Tucson

The Hyundai Tucson presented a unique take on front-end styling when it debuted, but everything gets old eventually, and now the family SUV is getting a significant update, which appears to extend beyond just lighting clusters and bumpers, although these will be heavily revised too.

Most notably, the parametric grille is being updated. Will this mean that lights will still be hidden behind it, or has Hyundai moved on from that? We'll have to wait for more revealing imagery to confirm. A reveal is expected before the end of the year, likely as a 2024 model.

Lamborghini Huracan Successor

The new baby Lambo was spied for the first time this week, and it's immediately obvious that its styling will draw inspiration from the Revuelto. We can also see some unique elements, like those large hexagonal lighting blocks in the lower intakes of the front bumper.

Yellow stickers confirm hybridization, and despite heavy camouflage, the Huracan replacement is clearly an edgier and more aggressive beast than its predecessor. The cutaway behind the rear wheels is particularly extreme, and that high-mounted exhaust exit is just as wild. Unfortunately, this car is only expected to be revealed at the end of 2024, so we have a long wait ahead of us and lots of speculation to sift through.

Hyundai i30 N

Unfortunately, this and the last car we will consider today are currently forbidden fruit in the US. It's available as a hatch or as a fastback, but that's still not enough for our market. Still, it's worth looking at as a potential US arrival if we ever move on from our aversion to small cars.

For the i30 N, this appears to be its second facelift, and with a redesigned bumper now sporting upright side intakes, and the honeycomb mesh appears to have changed slightly too. The usual orange accents feature throughout the car, and the rear seems to be unchanged. A reveal is possible in September at the IAA Munich show in Germany, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Cupra Formentor

Finally, we arrive at the Spanish Cupra Formentor. This only began production in September 2020 but is already getting some visual tweaks, with new headlights inspired by those on the Cupra Tavascan EV. The front end has also been massaged around the grilles and intakes, while the rear is expected to adopt new graphics for the taillights and some light work to the bumper.

This piece of off-limits European mobility is only likely to be ready sometime next year, when it should arrive for the 2025 model year.
