Bugatti's New Range Of Sunglasses Is Proof Money Can't Buy Taste

At least its a set of Bugattis you can afford.

Can't afford a Chiron? Don't fret because Bugatti has released something we can all afford: a new range of designer eyewear, which is said to blend "high-performance, exquisite luxury, and innovative design." That's a lot for some sunglasses to live up to, but they are Bugatti-branded, after all. Let's take a look at the automaker's new Collection Two range.

Debuting at the high-end SILMO show in Paris, the collection comprises 16 designs. However, one pair has piqued our interest, as it's adorned with the signature Bugatti radiator grille on the bridge. We get that the automaker wanted to infuse some of its heritage into the design, but this is plain tacky. We're not sure who would like to walk around with these, but they'd have to be filthy rich to afford a pair.

Bugatti hasn't supplied pricing, but anything made with 18-karat gold, carbon fiber, and mother of pearl - to name a few of the materials - will likely sport an exorbitant price tag.

If we had to guess, the collection would range between $1,000 and $2,000; that's the pricing for the Collection One range of eyewear. Then again, Bugatti has released eyewear that costs as much as a pre-owned Corolla.

In all fairness, some pieces are restrained (tasteful, even) and will likely appeal to more conservative individuals. However, the bright gold Bugatti logos found on the temples of some styles recall the Bulgari and Versace glasses favored by wealthy octogenarians.

Bugatti detailing includes the red "macron" emblem, Ettore Bugatti's distinct signature, and the aforementioned grille patterning created with a laser. We're surprised the automaker didn't integrate the iconic dancing elephant, an elegant sculpture that served as the Bugatti Royale's hood ornament.

"This new collection is simply incomparable, capturing the vast, rich essence of Bugatti automobiles. Each design of each piece serves as a testament to the brand's commitment to pushing boundaries," said Wiebke Stahl, Managing Director of Bugatti International.

Bugatti is no stranger to putting its name on fashion and household accessories. Last year, the high-end brand collaborated with Unleash Your Nature to present a line of clothing and shoes for fans of the automaker. But with price tags reflecting the Bugatti tie-in, it's best left for wealthier aficionados.

It's nothing compared to the Bugatti pool table, though. The recreational item is priced at $300,000, made out of carbon fiber and machined aluminum. It even boasts an optional gyroscopic sensor that can level the table when installed on a yacht. It's lovely, but for the price, we'd rather have a spare Bentley.

But if your beer wallet can't match your champagne tastes - and you still want a bit of the Bugatti lifestyle - perhaps the $300 Carbon EB.03 Bolide for Bugatti champagne will be to your liking. Bottled in a collectible carbon fiber bottle, you'll have a keepsake once the bubbly is finished.
